Richard R. Mitchell

Richard R. Mitchell, 84, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, December 28, 2006, at Elkhart General Hospital.  He had been a resident of Rosewood Terrace for the past year.   He was born August 30, 1922, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Albert and Mable (Kiem) Mitchell.  He married Wilda L. Stauffer on March 16, 1950, in Goshen.  She died October 31, 1987.   A resident of the area since 1929, Mr. Mitchell served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1947.  He worked at Goshen Stamping as a machinist until his retirement in 1987.   He enjoyed walking the Goshen area.   He is survived by a niece, Carol (Marvin) Binkley of Goshen; and three nephews, Albert (Dessie) Mitchell of Goshen, Emil (Jeri) Mitchell, Jr. of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and John Mitchell of Chicago, Illinois.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda; a sister, Doris Nelson; and four brothers, Clarence, Emil, Irvan and Arthur Mitchell.   Friends will be received 12:00 to 1:00 p.m, Friday, December 29, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.    A 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home.  Pamela Kling, Pastoral Assistant at the First United Methodist Church, Goshen, will officiate.   Burial will be in the West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
