Richard L. “Dick” Perrin, 79, of Goshen, died Tuesday morning, January 3, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital where he had been a patient since December 21, 2005. He had been ill the past two months. He was born September 1, 1926, in Supply, Arkansas, to Virgil and Berniece (Chappel) Perrin. On November 23, 1979, he married Barbara Jan Olds. She survives. Mr. Perrin lived in Goshen for more than 60 years. He had worked many years in construction for Yutzy Construction and Ted Stouder Construction. He was manager of the lumber yard at Farm Bureau Co-op where he had worked for over 30 years before retiring in 1989. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II in the European Theater serving in artillery units in Belgium and Germany. He was a member of the Goshen VFW, Post 985 and the Indiana State American Legion. He and his wife bred and raised Weimaraner Sporting Dogs for show. He enjoyed golf, freshwater fishing and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Jan; two daughters, Sue (Ed) Rankin and Lynn (Jim) Foltz, both of Goshen; a son, Danny (Marina) Perrin of Shipshewana; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Ron (Merlene) Perrin of Sturgis, Michigan and Don (Nancy) Perrin of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and a sister, Tommie Moist of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Perrin and a sister, Velma Stubbefield. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m., on Thursday, January 5, at the funeral home. A 2:00 p.m. memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with military honors given by the Goshen Veterans’ Organizations. Rev. John Randolph of the People’s Bible Church, Benton will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Memorials may be given to the Goshen Hospice Program in lieu of flowers.
