Richard J. Gorsuch, 81, died peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where he had resided since March 2010. He was born July 22, 1929, in Harrison Township to Joseph and Nora (Loucks) Gorsuch. He graduated from Goshen High School and went on to work the family farm all his life until his retirement several years ago. He is survived by a brother, Dean (Nancy) Gorsuch of Fort Wayne; four nieces, Ann Henelt (Daniel) Flynn of Mesquite, Nevada, Amy (Kent) Steeves of Newark, Delaware, Sue (James Kelly) Flynn of Hillsdale, Michigan, and Beth (Steve) Chester of Fort Wayne; and a nephew, Mark (Stacey) Gorsuch of Fort Wayne. Preceding him in death was his sister, Mary Louise (Edmund) Henelt. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday. Pastor John Drexler, First Brethren Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Elkhart County Council on Aging.
