Richard E. Gautsche, 75, of 2044 Georgian Way Apt. D-27, Lexington, Kentucky, died Saturday morning, January. 3, 2009,  at Meadows East of Signature Health Care, Louisville, Kentucky. He was born June 27, 1933 in Archbold, Ohio to Oscar and Herma (Nofziger) Gautsche.  He married Eunice A. (Zook) Little, in Elkhart, Indiana, on August 12, 1989. She survives.  Richard is also survived by one daughter, Nancy Gautsche, Cornerbrook, Newfoundland Canada; two sons, Gary (Kim Burkholder) Gautsche, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Randy Gautsche, Columbus, Ohio; One step-daughter, Amy (Keith) Swartzentruber, Lexington, Kentucky; two step-sons, James Little, Indianapolis, Indiana and David Little, New York City; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Doris ( Robert) Ebersole, Archbold, Ohio, Mary (Victor) Diller, Medway, Ohio, Alice Schmucker, Toledo, Ohio, and Glenda (Tony) Hurst, Goshen; two brothers, Dale Gautsche, Archbold, Ohio and Delmar (Donna) Gautsche, Coldwater, MIichigan.  Mr. Gautsche was a vocational guidance counselor for Employment Service, Columbus, Ohio and worked for Swartzentruber Hardwood Creations, Goshen from 1988-1995.He was a 1960 graduate of Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana; a member at Belmont Mennonite Church, in Elkhart, Indiana and an associate member of First United Methodist Church, Lexington, Kentucky.  His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held  later this spring in Indiana. His cremated remains will be interred at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to Belmont Mennonite Church or Mennonite Board of Missions or to Goshen College.
