Richard F. “Dick” Weaver, 74, of Goshen, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday morning, December 21, 2010. He was born in Wawaka on March 6, 1936 to the late Frank and Alberta (Francis) Weaver. He married Mary Helen Baker on August 15, 1959. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda D. Weaver of Goshen and Brenda Noel Weaver of Brooklyn, New York; a son, James R. (Cheryl) Weaver of Goshen; four grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; a sister, Karen (Robert) Growcock of Wolcottville; and two brothers, Grover (Rose) Weaver of Wawaka and David (Sarah) Weaver of LaGrange Mr. Weaver retired in 2000 from Elkhart Brass after 10 years. He had also worked at Quality Control and Goshen Rubber. He graduated from Wawaka High School in 1955 where he will be remembered for being active in all sports. Locally, he was a well known freshwater fisherman. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 23, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 24, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Shrock of First Baptist Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen.
