Richard D. Dills, 72, of Goshen, died Saturday morning, June 26, 2010, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born in Elkhart County on November 8, 1937, to the late Clare Dills and Iris (Hershberger) Dills of Goshen. He married Rosemary Ecker on April 25, 1964 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Rick (Connie) Dills of Goshen; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Carol Moles of Claremot, North Carolina, Marvel Joy Moles, Bonnie (Robert) Null and Betty (Don) Dirck, all of Goshen, Ann (Robert) Falconi of Frederick, Maryland, Kitty Fink of Nappanee, Mary (Jonas) Miller of Elkhart; and three brothers, William (Frances) Dills, John Dills and Mike Dills, all of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie E. Dills and a sister, Janet Dills. Mr. Dills worked as a press operator at Goshen Rubber for 35 years. He enjoyed going to auctions and sold produce in his front yard for several years. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, were a 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, funeral will be conducted. Pastor Mel Shetler of Maple City Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
