Richard W. Culin, 80, of Akron, Ohio, died early Monday morning, January 21, 2013 at Rockynol Retirement Center. He was born March 28, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Clarence Culin and Edythe G. (Wissinger) Culin Thomas. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Dusan "Duke"; a niece, Shelley and a nephew, Mike Joksimovic; and his best friend of fifty years, J. Gary Dillon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Louise Joksimovic. He served from May 26, 1950 to September 30, 1952 with the U.S. Marines in the Korean War. He was a member of the midwest chapter of the National Rairoad Historic Society and the Akron Railroad Club. A graveside service was conducted at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. A memorial service will be held at the end of May in Akron at the chapel at Rockynol Retirement Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth L. Joksimovic Memorial Foundation, 655 Deerfield Rd., #100, P.O. box 270, Deerfield, IL 60015. The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care and Rockynol Retirement Home, both of Akron.
