Richard Earl Archias

Richard E. Archias, 93, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Goshen Hospital.

He was born September 24, 1923 in Englewood, Missouri to Earl and Pauline (Slaughter) Archias.

On January 10, 1948 he married Ann Joy Schoonmaker in Chicago.  She died four days ago, April 21.

Survivors include two children, Andrew (Leonor) Archias of Osceola and Susan (Charles) Winker of Brenham, Texas; two grandchildren, Aaron and Andrea and a sister, Shirley Van der Kloot of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two siblings, Betty and Donald Archias.

He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Archias retired as a construction foreman for the Commonwealth Edison utility company in Chicago.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Geneva, Illinois; a carving club in Batavia, Illinois and a camera club.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and services and burial will take place in Geneva, Illinois at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
