Rhoda Troyer

With profound sadness and deep love, the family of Rhoda (Yoder) Troyer, 80, announces her passing on July 21, 2026, at Brownsburg Meadows Assisted Living in Brownsburg, Indiana. Rhoda was born on April 1, 1946, in Millersburg, Ohio, to John and Millie Yoder.

Rhoda spent 66 years of her life in Elkhart County before making her home in Danville, Indiana. Throughout her life, she was a woman who cherished the simple blessings of family, friendship, and the love shared around her. She had a gentle spirit and a caring heart, and those fortunate enough to know her will remember the warmth she brought into their lives.

On June 19, 1965, Rhoda married the love of her life, Burl Troyer. Together, they shared more than 61 years of marriage, building a life filled with memories, love, and devotion to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to the enduring power of commitment and companionship.

Rhoda found great joy in her family and treasured every moment she was able to spend with those she loved. She was a loving mother to Bronson (Anne) Troyer of Brownsburg and Corbett (Molly) Troyer of Pittsboro. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Adam, John and Luke Troyer. The love she gave them will continue to live on in their hearts and in the memories they hold dear.

Rhoda was also a cherished sister to Sam (Michelle) Yoder of Midland, Michigan; Clarence (Gretchen) Yoder of Goshen, Indiana; and Rachel (Mark) Karody of Granger, Indiana. She treasured the many memories created throughout the years.

For many years, Rhoda worked in clerical positions in the medical and legal fields. She was also a member of the Goshen Quilt Club and enjoyed sharing her creativity and love of sewing, quilting, counted cross stitch, stained glass and leaded glass with others. She was the proud owner of Jan's Flowers and Balloons in Elkhart for five years. These activities reflected her God-given gift of creating works of art. She loved to travel, both in the states and many countries abroad.

Above all, Rhoda will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings, and all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2026 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen from 4 to 7 p.m. A 10 a.m. funeral will be conducted Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Clinton Frame Church.

A private burial will be held at Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen.
