Rex Allen Vander Reyden, 52, of Goshen, died at his home Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2008. He was born in Goshen on June 17, 1956 to Wayne and Nancy (Amsler) Vander Reyden. He married Donna Bond in Goshen on June 20, 1987. She survives. A lifetime resident of the area, Mr. Vander Reyden worked as a salesman for AMSAFE Commercial Products for 14 years. He had also worked at Vancraft for more than 20 years. A 1974 graduate of Concord High School, Mr. Vander Reyden did volunteer work and fundraising for Elkhart County Special Education Co-op. He also served as an officer in the Men’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 985. He is survived by his wife, Donna; his parents, Wayne and Nancy (Amsler) Vander Reyden; two sons, Nicholas (Stephanie) Butler of Niles, and Adam Butler of Elkhart; a daughter, Amber Vander Reyden of Goshen; a granddaughter, Gracey Butler; a brother, Jeff (Janice) Vander Reyden of Goshen; and two sisters, Connie (Daniel) Holmes of Shipshewana, and Jennifer (Kevin) Schiffli of Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 11 at Yoder-Culp Funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday, December 12, at the church. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Sugar Grove Church, Goshen. Pastor Rick Gering will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Men’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 985.
