Rex E. Davis

Rex E. Davis, 79, of Elkhart, died Sunday morning, May 1, 2011, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.  He had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer four years ago. He was born in Nappanee on July 25, 1931 to the late Samuel O. and Lura (Senff) Davis. He is survived by a daughter, Tempa A. (Fred) Davis of Union, Michigan; a son, Max A. (Mary Ann) Davis of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Davis; and two sisters, Phyllis Middaugh and Velma Holloway. Mr. Davis retired from Bendix in 1983 after 30 years.  He attended Nappanee High School.  He was a Cub’s fan and had his private pilot’s license. Services will be held at a later date. Yoder-Culp Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
