Rev Norman Pennington of Goshen, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at his residence. He bravely fought liver cancer for two years.
He was born December 3, 1940, in Friendship, Arkansas to Henry and Lenora (Beckman) Pennington.
Norman graduated from Malvern High School, in Malvern, Arkansas in 1958. After about four years of working various jobs, he was able to enroll in Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri where he studied for the ministry. It is here that he met his wife, Sylvia McIninch.
Norman and Sylvia were married on June 6, 1964, in Greenfield, Indiana at Sylvia’s home church. Norman continued his study for the ministry and graduated in May of 1966 . After completing his education, Norman pastored about six years in Arkansas. He then spent about ten years pastoring in Indiana. The highlight of his life happened on July 18, 1968, in Leola, Arkansas, when he was blessed with the arrival of his only child, his son, Michael Norman Pennington.
In 2000, Norman began taking his family to Foxwood Hills, a summer camping association. It was during his first year there that he became involved with leading the ministry on the Campground. He was blessed with being able to see "God's Acre" purchased and a permanent shelter constructed for church services. This Ministry was a great thrill to him.
