It is with great sadness that the Wall family announces that Elmer Alvin Wall, 96, died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in Goshen, Indiana. He was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota on October 30, 1929 to Abram and Mary (Hiebert) Wall.
On December 17, 1960, he married Winifred Mumaw in Elkhart. They enjoyed more than 62 years of marriage prior to her death in 2023.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth (Scott) Neufeld-Wall, St. Louis, MO; sons, Timothy (Zoann) Wall, Goshen and Loren (Dawn) Wall, Manhattan, Kansas; and six grandchildren.
Along with his parents and wife, Winifred, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret and Marjorie Wall, brother, Arthur Wall, and three grandsons, Christian Wall, Christopher Wall and Nathaniel Wall.
In loving partnership with his wife, Winifred, he served in the ministry as a pastor for over 40 years. Elmer served as pastor to: Warren Street Mennonite Church, Middlebury, IN, Middletown Church of the Brethren, Middletown, OH, Good Shepherd Mennonite Church, Sioux Falls, SD, Carlock Mennonite Church, Carlock, IL, North Danvers Mennonite Church, Danvers, IL, Salem-Zion Mennonite Church, Freeman, SD, and Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, KS.
He served as interim pastor after retiring from full time ministry for Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, MI, Salem Mennonite Church, Freeman, SD, Providence Mennonite Church, Montgomery, IN and Eighth Street Mennonite, Goshen, IN. Elmer and Winifred were most recently members at Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Visitation will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S Main St, Goshen, IN 46526, Saturday, May 30, 2026, 4:00-7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Silverwood Mennonite Church, 1745 W Lincoln Ave, Goshen, IN 46526 Sunday, May 31, 3:00 pm. A meal will be served following the service. Burial will take place on Monday, June 1 at 9:30 am at Violett Cemetery.
