Reuel S. Lehman, 92, of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014, at the Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born July 19, 1921 in Kenmare, North Dakota, to Joseph and Stella (Sharp) Lehman. On August 9, 1946 he married Agnes M. Hershberger in Detroit, Michigan. She died Feb. 20, 2010. Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne (John) Rothchild, of Miami, Florida, and Judy (Michael) VanderMaas, of Goshen; a son, Bruce (Tonda) Lehman, of Goshen; four grandchildren, Blake (Lindsay) Lehman, Patrick Linn, Haley Linn and Rhonda Williams; two step-grandchildren, Troy VanderMaas and Stephanie Hershberger; three great-grandsons; four sisters, Mary Handrich, of Grand Marais, Michigan, Genevieve Buckwalter, of Goshen, Ethel (Daniel) Slabaugh, of Sturgis, Michigan, and Josephine Swartzendruber, of Rocky Ford, Colorado; and a brother, David Lehman, Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Barbara Lehman, a granddaughter, McKenna Lehman, and a twin sister, Ruth Buller. Reuel was a graduate of Fairview High School, Fairview, Mich. He worked as a representative for Mennonite Property Aid Assoc., for 20 years. He also was employed at Goshen College, working on plumbing and heating maintenance. He was a member of College Mennonite Church, where he volunteered in various capacities, along with serving as a Red Coat with Goshen General Hospital. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church where a 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 prayer service will be held prior to burial in Violett Cemetery. Following the burial, a 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 memorial service will be held in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church. Pastor Pamela Yoder will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to College Mennonite Church or Evening Exchange Club of Goshen.
