Goshen - Rennie Jon Yoder, 56, died Saturday morning at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born July 20, 1956 in Goshen to Isander and Marlys (Nettleton) Rodriguez. At a young age he was adopted by his father Floyd J. Yoder. On August 1, 1982 he married Teri M. (Harrington) Rhoades. She survives along with his mother Marlys Yoder; two daughters, Lisa M. (William Crandall) Rhoades, Butler, Annette Gonzales, Goshen; a granddaughter, Deena M. (T.J.) Stafford; three grandsons, D.J. (Latisha) Rhoades, Tony Gonzales II, Christian Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, and Joshua; two sisters, Lisa J. (Randy Crussemeyer) Yoder, Elkhart, Lori A. Yoder, Goshen; a niece, Savannah Crussemeyer; and a nephew, Tory Yoder. He was preceded in death by his birth father, and adopted father, and a step-daughter, Cynthia Rhoades. Rennie lived in Goshen all of his life. He worked as a mechanic, welder, and truck driver until becoming disabled in 1996. He liked to hunt, fish, play cards, golf, camp, swim, ski, and was an avid NASCAR and White Sox fan. He received Moose of the year award in 2002 when he was a member of Goshen #836. He broke the Jefferson High School shot put record when he was in the sixth grade. He later attended Middlebury Community Schools, and received his GED in 1995. His body will be cremated at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart County Humane Society, in honor of his beloved dog Max, who survives him.
