Regina G. Gaffer

Regina G. Gaffer, 103, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, Mach 23, 2010, at The Courtyard where she had been a resident the past ten months. She was born in Leigh, Nebraska, on January 30, 1907.  She married C.L. “Larry” Gaffer on July 1, 1936 in Fort Wayne.  He died October 17, 2002. A Goshen resident since 1944, Mrs. Gaffer was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.  She loved children and devoted her life to teaching elementary school; 16 years at Jefferson Elementary, 9 years at Concord Schools and several elementary schools in Nebraska. She is survived by two sons, Jack (Beverly) Gaffer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Steve (Jean) Gaffer of Goshen; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death a sister, Nora and two brothers, Charles and Archie. Friends may call 11a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted.  Rev. Father Christopher Smith of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to donor’s charity of choice.
