Reford Charles, 65, of Goshen, died Monday evening, October 9, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital where he had been admitted on Thursday evening. He was born August 30, 1941, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to Garland and Hane (May) Charles. He married Maxine Keene on November 25, 1966, in Clintwood, Virginia. She survives. A resident of the area since 1960, Mr. Charles retired in 2003 from DNA Enterprise. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; two daughters, Lesa (Tony) Swank of Ligonier and Janeann Friend of Goshen; a son, Jason Charles of Pikeville, Kentucky; and six grandsons. Also surviving are five brothers, Lester (Kelsie) Charles and Bobby Gene (Sara) Charles, both of Pikeville, Kentucky, Alston (Laura) Charles of Crooksville, Ohio, Ed (Reable) Charles of Akron, Ohio and Johhy (Ruby) Charles of Benton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude and Delphia and three brothers, Arnold Thomas, Hassel and George “Red” Jr. Charles. Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home. A 12:00 noon, funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 13, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Birtchel Mosley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
