Raymond C. Troyer, 95, died Wednesday morning, March 2, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen He was born July 19, 1915 in LaGrange to the late Calvin J. and Matilda (Lambright) Troyer. On July 19, 1936 he married Martha Wenger in Goshen. She died July 6, 2008. A member of Shore Mennonite Church he was a farmer and custodian at Shipshewana Schools and at church and later worked for Mennonite Disaster Services. He sang with the Gospel Messenger for many years and was a member of Full Gospel Business Men.  He was an outdoorsman and loved fishing. He moved to Goshen in 1991. He is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Craig) Garber, Goshen; sons, Emmett (Carol) Troyer, South Bend, Richard (Linda) Troyer, White Pigeon, Mich., Franklin (Janet) Troyer, Elkhart, and Jerry (Nancy) Troyer, Woodland, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by a son, Warren; sisters, Ellen Miller, Ruth Miller, Berdena Hartman,Edna Klopfenstein, Lena Plank, and Lizzie Miller; and brothers, Amos, Jerry, Calvin, Clarence, Jay, and Willis Troyer. Visitation will be 2-7 pm Sunday, March 5, and 9-10 am Monday, at Shore Mennonite Church where the funeral service will be held at 10 am. Officiating will be Mr. Troyer’s son-in-law, Rev. Craig Garber and Rev. Carl Horner. Burial will be at Shore Cemetery, Shishewana. Memorial contributions may be made to Shore Mennonite Church.
