Raymond W. Fleck

April 24, 1915 — July 10, 2007

Raymond W. Fleck, 92, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, July 20, 2007, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse. He was born on April 24, 1915, in Goshen, to Ora and Gladys Rose (Blough) Fleck.   A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Fleck worked as a Quality Control Inspector for more than 40 years at (Penn) Johnson Controls.  He retired in 1980.  He was a member of the Penn-Johnson Controls Retiree Club. A member of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, Mr. Fleck was a charter member of Goshen Moose Lodge #836; and a member of the VFW #985, the American Legion Post #30 and the DAV Post #15.  Mr. Fleck served in the US Army – Air Corps as an aircraft mechanic and welder on an aircraft repair ship in the Pacific Theater during WW II.  He is survived by a son, Douglas R. Fleck of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Jason (Christiane) Hire, Sarah Fleck and Braxton Fleck. He was preceded in death by a daughter Debra L. Fleck in May 1982; two brothers, Harold M. and Richard Fleck; and a sister, Maxine Oler.  Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Alan Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
