Raymond Devon Fields

Raymond Devon Fields, 93, former longtime Goshen resident, Goshen Rubber Co. retiree and World War II veteran, died December 7, 2012 at his home in Holland, Michigan. He was born January 23, 1919 in Goshen to Chester and Florence (Kitson) Fields. He married Betty McKee August 29, 1940. She died September 16, 1986. He later married Ethel (Wildey) Zimmerman April 11, 1992. She survives along with a daughter, Janet (Arick) Fiandt of Goshen; a granddaughter, Beth (James Christ) Bowers of Cassopolis, Michigan; a step-daughter, Carol (John) Carter of Holland, Michigan; three step-sons, Earl "Max" (Nancy) Zimmerman of Lenexa Kansas, Dan (Linda) Zimmerman of Kalkaska, Michigan and Dale (Linda) Zimmerman of Grand Haven, Michigan; eight step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Fields. Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012,funeral service at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Pastor Dick Rinearson will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
