Ray Vanest, 55, of Goshen, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital.
He was born February 6, 1963 in Marion, Ohio to Gerald and Sharon (Ruby) Vanest.
On May 2, 1981 he married Jennifer “Kay” Weeks in Prospect, Ohio.
She survives along with five children, Consuela (Robert) Geller of Cromwell, Jennifer (Aaron) Payne, Anthony Vanest, Amanda (Brandon) Smith and Brandy (Chris) Smith, all of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his mom, Sharon Vanest of Marion, Ohio; a sister, Carla (David) Leitch of Elkhart; a brother, Jerry (Norma) Vanest of Mishawaka; and his dog, Tippy.
He was preceded in death by his dad.
Ray worked at the Forest River Plant in Elkhart.
He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Ray was a train enthusiast and built classic “monster” and car models. He enjoyed all kinds of music, playing it as loudly as he could.
Friends will be received Saturday, July 28, from 2 until the 5 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Cremation will follow the service at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Vanest family, c/o Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
