Ray Linville

February 16, 1937 — November 4, 2019

Ray Linville, of Goshen, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2019.

He was born February 16, 1937 to Garrett and Elizabeth (Dobison) Linville in Earle, Arkansas. He has lived in Indiana since 1953.

Ray was self-employed as a van transporter for the Amish and Mennonite communities. He enjoyed meeting people and always had a smile for everyone that he met. He was a member of 1 st Assembly of God in Goshen. He married Laney L. Cavender on May 29, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2017.

Surviving Ray are daughters, Brenda (Larry) Howard of Goshen, and Sue (Rodney) Smith of Portland, Indiana; son Jerry (Terri) Linville of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Faye Tyler of Goshen, and brother, Jack Linville of Dundee, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laney, his parents, sisters, Jane Blackburn and Annie Ashby, and brothers, C.L., John “Bill,” and Joe Linville.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m., and for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service,  on Thursday, November 7, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastors Jason Kincaid and Mike Kelly will officiate.

Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.

Memorial contributions may be given to Greencroft Gables, Alzheimer’s Unit.
