Randall "Randy" J. Hershberger

Randall "Randy" J. Hershberger, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday. He was born May 5, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa to Kenneth and Virginia (Fisher) Hershberger. He married Marcia Schrock July 30, 1988 at Holdeman Mennonite Church. She survives along with two daughters, Ellie and Abby, both at home; his mother, Virginia Hershberger, Goshen; a sister, Barbara (Carl) Westerbeek, Goshen; and three brothers, Kevin (Susie) Hershberger, Mount Gilead, N.C., and Galen (Karen) Hershberger and John (Diana) Hershberger, both of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his father. A longtime area resident, Randy was a member of Holdeman Mennonite Church where he served as an elder, youth sponsor and Sunday school teacher. He was very involved in 4-H, serving as a dairy director. He also served on the Elkhart County Holstein Association. A 1977 graduate of Northridge High School and a graduate of Lake Shore Technical Institute, Sheboygan, Wis., he worked in sales for Coach House Garages out of Arthur, Ill. A devoted father and husband, Randy enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and golf. Friends may call 1-3 and 5-8 p.m., Monday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A 10:30 a.m., Tuesday memorial service will be conducted at Holdeman Mennonite Church, Wakarusa. Pastors Randy Detweiler and BJ Leichty will officiate. A private burial will be at Olive (East) Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be given to the Holdeman Mennonite Church Benevolence Fund.
