Rae Allen Johnston

Rae Allen Johnston, 81, of Goshen, passed away on Monday, August 30, at his home. He was born September 2, 1939, in Kimmel, Indiana to Clyde and Virginia (White) Johnston.

Rae married Jean Olsen on September 30, 1995, in Goshen. She survives, along with children Lawrence (Carolyn) Johnston, Elkhart, Rae Ann (Mark) Gaut, Wakarusa, Douglas Rae (Deborah) Johnston, Cocoa Beach, Florida, Lynn (Barbara) Stutzman, Goshen, and Beth (Brent) Unger, Maryville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Humphreys.

Mr. Johnston owned Raeco in Goshen until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Goshen Moose Lodge. Rae was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer. He restored and showed classic cars.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 3-6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, followed by the 6 p.m. memorial service. Pastor Dave Bunyan, of Waterford Community Church will officiate. According to Rae’s wishes, cremation will take place.
