Rachel May Honey, 77, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born June 23, 1935 in White Pigeon, Michigan, to Howard E. Middaugh, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth (Blake) Middaugh. She married Carl Junior Honey June 22, 1952 in White Pigeon. He died December 11, 1980. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia (Larry) Carter and Carol (Duane) Yoder, both of Goshen and Betsy Ottman of Elkhart; two sons, Ellis (Georgania) Ihnen of Rochester and DeWayne Honey of Cassopolis, Michigan; two step-children, Dyanna Wissman of Goshen and Donald Ray (Juanita) Honey of Agnes, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard (Edna) Middaugh of White Pigeon. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Honey and 11 siblings. A Goshen resident since 1949, Mrs. Honey retired from Frederick Tools. She was a charter member and elder of the Faith Christian Center where she taught Sunday school and was part of the prayer group. Friends may call 12 to 3 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Faith Christian Center, 1801 W. Clinton St., Goshen, where a 4 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Her body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Feed the Hungry.
