Phyllis J. Snyder, 80, of Goshen, died late Friday evening, January 13, 2006, at Americare Living Center. She had been ill several months. She was born August 7, 1925 in Topeka, Indiana, to Purda and Elsie (Carpenter) Poyser. On September 14, 1959, in Ithica, Michigan, she married Max C. Snyder. He died November 18, 2002. Mrs. Snyder, a homemaker, had lived in Goshen since 1943. She was a lifetime member of both the Women’s Auxiliary DAV #15 and Women’s Auxiliary VFW #985, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Millersburg. She is survived by three daughters, Rita Hostetler of Bismark, Illinois, Linda (Edmund) Farmwald of Goshen and Debra (Rodney) Cart of Elkhart; a son, Gail S. Rheinheimer of Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Max and a sister, Betty Schrock. Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2006, service will be held at the funeral home. Warren Swartz, DAV Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Goshen Hospice, Americare Living Center, Goshen or Donor’s Choice.
