Phyllis Mast

Phyllis Mast, 84, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, April 7, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.  She had been in failing health since September. She was born in Goshen on May 22, 1926, to the late Wilbur and Evelyn (Bailey) Bickel.  She married Levi M. Mast on October 29, 1949.  He died April 22, 1988. She is survived by two daughters, Pat (Richard) Cloud of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Sharon Mast of Goshen; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Phil Bickel and four sisters, Betty Labar, Louella Bickel, Karen Bickel and Wilma Doland; and a great-grandson, Tracy Drew Majewski. A lifetime Goshen resident, Mrs. Mast worked as a switch builder at the former Johnson Controls and at the Dixie Sandwich Shop.  She was a former member of Women of the Moose.  Mrs. Mast was a bowler in her younger years.  She enjoyed traveling, playing euchre and bingo. There will be no visitation.  A 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Goshen Hospital Chaplain, Sister Nora Frost, BBC officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
