Phyllis E. Kurtz

Phyllis E. Kurtz, 95, formerly of Millersburg, died Sunday, August 19, 2018, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Milford.

She was born September 28, 1922, in Benton Township to Merle W. and Hazel B. (Good) Darr.

On February 1, 1946 she married Kalleele W. “K.W.” Kurtz.  He died January 3, 2015.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Schrock and brothers, Marion L. “Tim” and Galen M. Darr.

A 1940 graduate of Millersburg High School, Mrs. Kurtz worked as a supervisor at Johnson Controls for 35 years, retiring in 1984.  She was a member of Goshen Lodge #397 of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary #484.  She was fond of her cat “Sugar” and enjoyed doing needlework, ceramics and stained glass.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Larry Byrnes will officiate.

Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
