Phyllis Defrees

Phyllis M. Defrees, 81, of Goshen, died Monday afternoon, July 15, 2013 at Woodland Manor, Elkhart. She was born February 17, 1932 in Goshen, to Roland Roy and Ina May (Landaw) Carter. She married Lowell W. Defrees July 15, 1950 in Goshen. He survives along with three children, Rick Defrees, of Oregon, Marcie (Randi) VanderMolen, of Millersburg and Kristy (Gary) Webb, of Anderson; three grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 3 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters. A homemaker, Mrs. Defrees graduated from Goshen High School in 1950. She was a member of New Paris Church of the Brethren. Private family services will take place with burial following at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care or the New Paris Church of the Brethren. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
