Phyllis Jean Christner, 95, of Warsaw, formerly of Goshen, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.

She was born on September 9, 1931, in Buchanan, Michigan, to Harold and Irene (Clemens) Ainsworth. Phyllis lived in the area since 1951. She dedicated over 40 years as a switchboard operator and administrative assistant at Johnson Controls.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Roger) Snyder of Syracuse; her son, Jerry C. (Jo Ann) Johnson of Leesburg; three granddaughters, Sarah (Ryan) Elliott, Holly (Justin) Leatherman, and Ashley (Michael) Mettham; and six great-grandchildren, Jake Elliott, Tori Elliott, Maddie Leatherman, Logan Leatherman, Noah Mettham, and Owen Mettham.

Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen. She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and following sports.
