Phillip L. "Tink" Albert, 71, of Goshen, died Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2009, at his home.  He had been ill the past eight months. He was born in Goshen on March 1, 1938, to the late Earl and Genevieve (Trainor) Albert.  He married Beverly Joann Mahler on October 28, 1956 in Goshen at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  She survives. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Albert was president and owner of Doug's Alignment, Goshen, before retiring six years ago.  He had also worked as an auto mechanic for Olds-Cadillac.  He attended Goshen High School and GM Schools for mechanical training.  He was a member of the Goshen Moose, the Bristol American Legion and the Goshen VFW.  He enjoyed motor homing with his wife, Bev and their dog, Max, and meeting new people across the country. He is survived by his wife; a daughter-in-law, Denise (Gary) Albert-Mast of Millersburg; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy (Larry) Miller and Kelly (Steve) Gay, both of Goshen, Genevieve (David) Bookman of Pensacola, Florida, and Janie (Larry) Neidffer of Columbus, OHio; and four brothers, James (Joan) Albert and Chris (Rita) Albert, both of Goshen, and Donald Albert and Tim Albert, both of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip E. Albert, on April 1, 2006. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 5, followed by a prayer vigil; and again on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Father Christopher Smith of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow cremation at a later date in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
