Phillip Lee Hawn, 81, of Goshen died at his home Thursday morning, May 16, 2013 of natural causes. He was born July 11, 1931 in LaPorte, Indiana, to Ernest and Grace (Smith) Hawn. On September 17, 1955 in Goshen he married Beverly Alfrey. She survives along with two daughters, Tina (Jim) Mikel, of Wakarusa, and Shannon (Tom) Perkins, of Goshen; two sons, Randy (Paula) Hawn, of Cromwell, and Adam (Dana) Hawn, of Elkhart; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Butch (Marie) Hawn, of Kilgore, Texas, and Mike Hawn, of Tylare, California; and two half-brothers, Buddy Alfrey, of Sweeny, Texas, and Junior Alfrey, of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wes Hawn; and a sister, Beverly Godwin. Mr. Hawn was a longtime area resident and worked at Western Rubber Company. He enjoyed fishing and never met a stranger. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 funeral service will be held. Pastor Craig Garber will officiate. Burial will follow at New Paris Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
