Philip Daniel Bigler, 85, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, February 23, 2012, at IU Health Goshen Hospital where he had been the last week. He was born February 16, 1927 in Goshen to the late Pierre Starr and Celeste (Johnson) Bigler. He is survived by five nieces and six nephews and his longtime care giver, Lisa Hull. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frederick, Maxwell, Pierre and James Bigler and a sister-in-law, Anna Celestia Bigler. A lifetime Goshen resident he worked at Super Steer Meat Company for 34 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in both World War II and the Korean War where he earned a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Campaign Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. His body will be cremated and a 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012, graveside service, with Military Honors, will be conducted at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
