Peter W. Buller, 84, of Goshen, died Friday morning, August 28, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born in Chinook, Montana, on December 19, 1924, to the late Peter and Anna (Wiens) Buller. He married Gladys E. Klassen on June 24, 1949, in Minnesota. She survives. A pastor and minister, Mr. Buller has lived in the area since 1987 and was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church. He served as a missionary in the Congo for 35 years under Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission. Following his retirement in 1987, he pastored several churches including the International Protestant Church of Kinshasa, Congo, Berkey Avenue Mennonite Church of Goshen and Olive Mennonite Church of Elkhart. Peter and his wife celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 28th, 2009 at Silverwood Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Jeannette (Nathan) Slater of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, James P. (Patti) Buller and Charles P. (Tracy) Buller, both of Goshen; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna (Ellis) Gerber and Shirley (George) Newman, both of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; and two brothers, Clarence (Phyllis) Buller of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Henry Buller of Augusta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Buller. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 30, at Silverwood Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, August 31, 2009, at Silverwood Mennonite Church, 1712 W. Clinton, Street, Goshen. Rev. Ron Guengerich and Rev. Janice Troyer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission.
