Peter A. Basile, 71, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, June 4, 2013, at Courtyard Healthcare, where he had recently been admitted. He had been in failing health for several years. He was born October 4, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, to Samuel and Della (Rizzuto) Basile. On July 28, 1973 he married Cherie Marshall in Homewood, Illinois. She survives along with a daughter, Maria Basile (Fred Corpuz), of Santa Clara, California; two sons, Perry (Erica) Basile, of Romeoville, Illinois, and James (Ivett) Basile, of Santa Clarita, California; four grandchildren, Gianni, Marco, Joy, and Joey; a sister, Toni (Paul) Spangler, of Lansing, Illinois, two brothers, Vincent (Kathy) Basile, of Crown Point, and Richard (Inge) Basile, of Highland; and a sister-in-law, Irene Basile, of Crown Point, wife of his late brother, Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Basile was an area resident since 1993. He worked in the roofing industry and for the Indiana Dept. of Transportation. Visitation is set for 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 7:30 p.m. prayer vigil will be conducted. Family and friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, before leaving in procession for St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Bristol, where a 10:30 funeral mass will be held with Father Bob officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral mass. Burial will be at a later date at Crown Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Thelma Schrock Homestead Foundation or Cure PSP, 30 E.
