Penelope Jane Shue

Penelope “Penny” J. (Fryman) Shue, 79, passed away Friday, July 14, at Morningview Assisted Living.

She was born April 9, 1944 in Elkhart County to Harold and E. Lavonne (McCumsey) Fryman.

Penny is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Douwsma of Goshen; a grandson, Cooper (Gabbie) Douwsma; a great-granddaughter, Ellison Douwsma: a sister, Patsy (Kirby) Keim of Goshen and former husband of 24 years, Ron Shue, Fort Wayne.

A 1962 graduate of Goshen High School, Penny drove school bus for Goshen Community Schools for 20 years.  An outdoors person, she enjoyed doing yard work.  She was a former member of the Moose.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow the visitation and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in West Goshen Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in Penny’s name may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
