Peggy May Bontrager

October 20, 1935 — July 3, 2014

Peggy May Bontrager, 78, of Goshen, died Thursday morning, July 3, 2014 at RiverCrest Specialty Hospital, Mishawaka, where she had been a patient for a week. She was born October 20, 1935 in Goshen. On July 7, 1986 she married LeRoy "Roy" E. Bontrager in Niles. Mich. She is survived by a son, Brett (Carol) Mitchell, of Goshen, a granddaughter, Andrea Mitchell, of Goshen, and two half sisters, Elizabeth Gaston, of Batson, Texas, and Mary Louise Taylor, Daisetta, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, May (Branum) Gross; her step-father, Donald Gross; her husband, Roy; and three half-brothers, Joe, Alph and Rheu Gross. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Bontrager worked at Courtyard Healthcare serving there as a nurses' assistant, a cafeteria helper and a traveling escort. She was a Goshen High School graduate and member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Bev Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to Courtyard Healthcare.
