Pearl E. Yoder, 94, of Albion, went home to be with the Lord whom she loved Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange. She was born May 22, 1917 in Three Rivers, Michigan to David and Mabel (Harmon) Bowen. On February 12, 1938 she married Joe S. Yoder, Sr. in Three Rivers. He passed away February 10, 2000. Surviving are five daughters, Hazel Ann (Clarence) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Rosalie (Wilbur) Bontrager of Middlebury, Marilynn (Larry) Hooley of Shipshewana, Peggy (Vern) Gillespie of Albion and Nita (Dave) Gerwel of Goshen; two sons, Joe S. Yoder, Jr. of Bristol and John David Yoder of Bullhead City, Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Wood, Mary Winchel and Helen Fornerasio; four brothers, Robert, Lawrence, Bill and Jim Bowen; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A long time area resident, Mrs. Yoder was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. She worked at Kroger's in Goshen in the dairy section and as a cashier. She was also an Amish taxi driver. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 30, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10:30, Saturday, March 31, 2012, funeral service at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
