Pauline "Polly" Oyer

Pauline “Polly” Oyer, 95 of Goshen, died Tuesday, May 05, 2009 at the Maples at Waterford Crossing. She was born to Edward and Ellen (Smith) Oyer on April 26, 1914 in Metamora, Illinois.  Polly retired after 35 years of service with the FBI in Phoenix, Arizona as chief clerk from 1940 to 1975. She moved from Phoenix to Goshen in 2006. She had attended Goshen College, First Baptist Church in Phoenix, and College Mennonite Church in Goshen. She was a gracious hostess to her family and friends. She is survived by four nieces, Phyllis Yoder and Elaine Unzicker both of Goshen, Judy Gingerich of Nashville, Tennessee, and Cindy Oyer of Elkhart; three nephews, Randy Noe of Nashville, Tennessee, Mike Oyer of Elkhart, and Phil Oyer of San Francisco, California. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Noe and Ethel Yoder; and one brother, Harold Oyer. Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Her cremains will be interred at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka, Illinois.
