Pauline Marie Deter

Pauline Deter, of Elkhart, left this earth on January 11, 2019.

She was born June 30, 1945 to John and Rose Reis in Madison, Wisconsin and lived out the last 54 years of her life in Goshen.

She married William Baker in 1964 and Dean Deter in 1980.  Both preceded her in death.

The family believes she is now dancing in heaven with them both. Pauline was a woman who had little time for small talk. She enjoyed deep conversation about life with the motto “everyone has the right to their own ridiculous opinion.”

She was a loving mother and grandmother and “adopted” many other children throughout her life. She was beloved by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her children; Alicia Marker, William Baker and Danielle Stilley and grandchildren; Nolan, Alec, Savannah, Ethan, Zachary, Brian, Bobbie, Joey and Dominique.

A celebration of life will be held at the DAV Hall on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. Food will be provided alongside a cash bar.
