Paul "Tooter" Stubblefield 66, of Goshen, Indiana died Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2013 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He had been ill the past six months. He was born July 19, 1946 in Wilson, Arkansas, to Paul and Myrtle (Whitaker) Stubblefield. In October of 1998 he married Jody Kauffman in Goshen. She survives. Other survivors include his mother Myrtle Sartain, of Osceola, Arkansas, a step-mother, Dorothy Stubblefield, of Hazel Green, Alabama; a step-son, Richie Holdeman, of Osceola, Indiana; two grandchildren, D.J. (Tish) Rhodes, of Elkhart, and Deena (T.J.) Stafford, of Goshen; four sisters, Linda (Kerry) Edwards, of Victoria, Arkansas, Vicki Naylor, of Elkhart, Jenny (Steve) Rice, of Warsaw, and Shana Upton, of Hazel Green, Alabama; and two brothers, Ronnie (Barb) Stubblefield, of Goshen, and Gene Steele, of Ligonier. He was preceded in death by his father, and a son, Dwight "Dee" Stubblefield in 2005. Tooter worked many years in various RV factories, doing a variety of jobs, most recently at Turtle Top in Goshen. He was a member of the Goshen Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and playing with his dog Mopzee. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral home. Rev. James Shrock, of First Baptist Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart County Humane Society or to the family in care of Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
