Paul W. Horst, 87, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
He was born November 13, 1932 in Stevens, Pennsylvania to Ivan S. and Susie (Wenger) Horst. He grew up on a farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
On August 8, 1957 he married Joanne Hershberger in Albany, Oregon.
She survives along with a son, Randy (Laura Lerch) Horst of Goshen; a daughter, Cynthia Horst of Waukesha, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Russell (Karissa) Horst of Bluffton, Indiana and Lisa (Isaac) Schrock of Iowa City, Iowa; and three great grandchildren, Paul, Irene and Marie.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.
Mr. Horst received his Master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver in 1962. He worked in the mental health field for 34 years before his retirement.
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Cremation will take place with a Celebration of Life memorial to be scheduled at a later date.
