Paul W. Bowman Paul W. Bowman, 88, of Goshen died Monday afternoon, September 4, 2006, at Americare Living Center where he had been a resident since March 2206. He was born on April 5, 1918 in Goshen, to John and Anna (Baker) Bowman. He married June Lorraine Moyer in Elkhart in 1935. She died in 1954. On September 26, 1959, he married Helen Kelsey in Goshen. She survives. A lifelong resident of Goshen, Mr. Bowman worked as a press operator for more than 46 years at Goshen Rubber. He retired in 1983. Mr. Bowman had also worked as a custodian for a number of years at Plymouth United Church of Christ. A member of the Jefferson Brethren Church, he was a World War II US Army veteran having served in the European Theater where he was cited for heroism in actions against the enemy. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed home carpentry and reading. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Nancy Sue Bowman of Howell, Michigan and Bonnie Alfrey of Goshen; a son, Jon Michael (Diana) Stump of Goshen; a daughter-in-law, Pam Bowman of Goshen; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Irene Gibson and Dora Aust, both of Goshen. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a son, Steven Warren Bowman; a sister, Marie; four brothers, Clarence, Guy, Fred and Lamar Bowman; and a granddaughter, Traci Michelle Stump. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 6 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be held at the Jefferson Brethren Church, 58915 SR 15, Goshen, on Thursday, September 7, 2006. Rev. Ron Spyker, Rev. Scott Berkey and Vickie Oldenburg will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Jefferson Brethren Church.
