Patty Lou Shoup

Patty L. Shoup, 92, of Goshen, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born July 28, 1929, in Goshen to Clayton L. and Mary (Walter) Chrisman.

On June 12, 1953, she married George M. Shoup in Goshen. He died March 3, 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Shoup, Goshen; two sons, David (Michelle Abel-Shoup) Shoup, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and John (Penny Meyers) Shoup, Goshen; three grandchildren, Clayton, Colton, and Brooke; and a brother, Carroll Chrisman, Goshen.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, C. Neil Chrisman.

Patty was a 1947 graduate of Goshen High School and long time member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church. She was also a past member of the Rebekahs, an independent Order of Odd Fellows.

She worked as an assistant manager at Newberry Department Store, and as a custodian at Parkside Elementary School.

Private services will be held at a later date. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
