Patsy J. Strycker, age 93, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Hubbard Hill Living Wisdom.
She was born on April 29, 1932, in Goshen, Indiana, to Loyd and Mary (Miller) Soncarty. Patsy graduated from Goshen High School in 1950. On June 8, 1952, she married the love of her life, Stanley J. Strycker, in Goshen. Stanley preceded her in death in January of 2024.
Patsy is survived by her son, Dr. Douglas (Helen Ann) Strycker of Milford, Indiana; her daughter, Connie (Robert) Springer of Metamora, Illinois; and her son, Dr. Stephen (Sharon) Strycker of St. Joseph, Michigan; her daughter-in-law, Andrea Strycker of Parker, Colorado; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Philip (Pat) Soncarty of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Dr. Stanley; and her son, Dr. David B. Strycker.
Patsy was known for her creativity and her remarkable gift of hospitality. She was a devoted member of Jefferson Community Church, where she was actively involved in church life. Patsy also volunteered faithfully at Goshen Hospital beginning in 1991. A talented musician, she was an accomplished flute player and proudly performed with the Elkhart Municipal Band. Her family brought her endless joy and was the heart of her life. A highlight of her working career was being a realtor in Zionsville.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Community Church, with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial will take place at Violett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Jefferson Community Church. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
