Patsy Keim, 89, of Goshen died Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart.
She was born January 20, 1936 in Goshen to Harold and LaVonne (McCumsey) Fryman.
On December 25, 1956 she married Kirby Keim in Goshen.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (Deb) Keim and Jeff Keim, both of Goshen; grandchildren, Brandon (Shalmai) Keim, Goshen, Molly (Todd) Newland, Indianapolis and Kahlil Alkattan, South Bend; and great-grandchildren, Julien, Jaden and Sebastian Keim and Ezra and Ari Newland.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Kirby earlier this year; great-grandson, Silas Keim in 2014; daughter, Kim Stutsman in 2019; and sister, Penny Shue in 2023.
Patsy was actively involved in the Goshen community. She was a faithful election poll worker for more than 20 years. She worked for Goshen Community Schools for 27 plus years in various roles within the athletic department, superintendents’ office and principals’ offices. She served as the first honorary referee for the girl’s area relays; and the first female honorary referee for the area boy’s relays; held every spring.
She could often be found taking tickets, working concessions, or giving a general word of encouragement. Patsy had a way of making people feel like friends, especially with her famous sugar cookies close at hand.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A 10 a.m. Friday funeral service will take place at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Overpeck will officiate.
Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America for research.
