Patricia "Pat" Yoder, 74, of Union, Michigan, died at her home early Monday morning, January 9, 2012, after battling cancer for a year. She was born April 29, 1937 in Goshen to the late John and Roberta (Bevins) Niccum. She married Phil Yoder on February 23, 1957 at the Plymouth United Church of Christ. He survives. Also surviving are three children, Phil (Stephanie) Yoder, II of Jacksonville, Florida, Cathy (Steve) Bartow of Goshen and John (Cindy) Yoder of Goshen; two grandsons, Christopher Miller and Andrew (Amber) Miller; two step-grandsons, Cory (Johnna) Yoder and Josh (Kelly) Yoder; and a twin brother, Robert (Monica) Niccum of Des Moines, Iowa. A longtime area resident, Mrs. Yoder graduated from Goshen High School in 1956. She worked at Goshen General Hospital and Mills Grocery, Union, Michigan. A lifelong member of Plymouth United Church of Christ, where she was baptized, and sang in the choir since her high school days. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 11 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012, funeral service at Plymouth United Church of Christ. Pastor Larry Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Plymouth United Church of Christ or Center for Healing and Hope.
