Patricia L. Nisley, 86, Goshen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on October 9, 2024, to go home to be with Jesus.
She was born on October 30, 1937, in Elkhart County to Samuel S. and Ellen Marie (Gardner) Miller.
Patricia married Monroe “JR” Eugene Nisley, on June 4, 1955 in Kouts, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1998.
Surviving are children Sherry (Henry) Zehr, West Lafayette, Dallis Miller, Union, Michigan, and Douglas (Angela) Nisley, Goshen; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Eleanor (Sam) Koehler, Spring Valley, Minnesota, and brother Sam (Sue) Miller, Hobart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 granddaughters, Kailey L. Zehr (2005), and Rachel Miller (1993), and a sister, Meredith Wittrig.
She worked for Valparaiso Community Schools as the Payroll Administrator, where she retired after 30 years. Following retirement, she then volunteered for New Creation Resale Shop and Men’s Center in Valparaiso for 15 years. Patricia had a real heart to minister to people who visited the resale shop.
She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Her father was a pastor, and both he and her mother helped shape her personal faith in Jesus, and fostered her servant’s hearts.

Pastor Mario Bustos, retired pastor from Valparaiso Mennonite Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Middlebury.
Memorial contributions may be directed to New Creation Resale Shop and Men’s Center (2102 Calumet Avenue, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383).
