Orpha K. Kauffman, 96, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, September 20, 2009, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident since August 23, 2009. She was born on July 4, 1913, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Ira C. and Jennie (Troyer) Yoder. She married Duane S. Kauffman on October 11, 1936 in Goshen. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1995. A Goshen resident since 1930, Mrs. Kauffman had worked at Jean Lee Originals and Chase Bag. She was a member of First Church of God, Goshen. She is survived by a son, Larry (Minnie) Kauffman of Goshen; a step-daughter, Debbie (Greg) Rice of Marion; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Virginia Looney; two grandsons, David and Lee Kauffman; a granddaughter, Lisa Looney; three sisters, Velma Yoder, Violet Yoder and Lois Blough; and a brother, Leo Yoder. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Troy Scott of First Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God, Goshen.
