Orbie Townsend

Orbie Townsend, 82, of Elkhart, died Sunday evening, April 16, 2006, at AmericareLivingCenter, Goshen.   He was born January 5, 1924, in Oak Hill, Ohio, to Sherman and Ida (Brady) Townsend.  On September 10, 1966, in Goshen, he married Marjorie M. Weiland.  She survives.   A car salesman at Hibshman Pontiac in Mishawaka and Zane Used Car Sales, Osceola, he had lived in the area since 1979.  A US Naval Reserve, he was a member of the ApostolicTemple in South Bend.   He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Margrett (David) Cook of Bremen; a step-daughter, DeAnn (Steven) Witwer of Elkhart; a step-son, Douglas (Sherry) Sayles of Elkhart; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Townsend and a great-granddaughter, Allison Cook.   Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   An 11:30 a.m., funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the funeral home.  Bishop Peter Rowe and Bishop David Rowe of the ApostolicTemple, South Bend and Pastor Edward Ritchie of the CommunityBaptistChurch, Dunlap will officiate.   Burial will be in ViolettCemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the ApostolicTemple or CommunityBaptistChurch or Gideons International.
